I had lost myself entirely to this relationship; my mental health, my physical health, my career, my finances, my sanity, I was spiritually damaged, my confidence and self-worth was decimated, people didn’t want to know me anymore because I had associated myself with this person, and I lost my ability to even be able to rebuild from the wreckage that was left behind.
The content in this book is what fell out of my head as I was coming to terms with and trying to make sense of a number truths that were beginning to surface about the relationship, myself, and the person I was in the relationship with.
This book contains some hard lessons I learned and revelations that I now carry me, but it also contains some incredibly personal pieces that I wrote during my time of healing; they are raw, unfiltered, vulnerable, but straight from the heart.
But this book isn’t a story about the relationship, or the person I was in the relationship with. It was me simply trying to pick up all of the broken pieces, trying to understand and make sense of them the best that I could in order to uncover the truth and set the record straight if only for myself; but most importantly to use what came out to create brand new standards that came from a place of self-respect, truth, and integrity.
