Trying to heal from what someone else left you with is always going to be a journey...
Some days will feel heavy, others will feel like the weight has lifted.
But sometimes it's the little things you notice that can really mean the most.
Because it means, you're finally starting to find yourself again...
You start to eat better again.
You start to put the weight back on that you lost from all of the stress they caused you.
You start looking after yourself by exercising again.
You start to look healthier and your skin begins to glow again.
The ageing in your face from the constant toll seems to have rescinded.
You start to rebuild your finances again from the financial mess they left you in.
You find peace again.
Your days begin to feel calm again.
You start to allow yourself to relax and enjoy the moment without having any fear or anxiety in the back of your mind.
You work on yourself more than you ever have, and you slowly become the best version of yourself that you've ever been.
Your confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth return.
You start to rebuild who you are.
You start making your way again.
Because you're finally able to breathe again.
Sometimes your healing isn't always obvious in giant leaps at a time, but if you look hard enough your healing can be seen each day in the smallest of things you do.
Take the time to acknowledge this and be proud of how your healing is progressing.
Because when you do, you'll realise that although there may still be sadness, pain, and trauma you need to work through, you're still so much further than where you started from...
And that's something to feel really proud of...
